ADPSR 2007 Lewis Mumford Awards and 25th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday evening, June 2nd, Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR) will honor 2007 Lewis Mumford award winners at a gala celebration at The Maple Leaf in New Orleans. Each year ADPSR recognizes individuals and organizations that further our mission of peace, environmental protection, ecological building, social justice, and the development of healthy communities. Winners of the three award categories of Peace, Sustainable Development, and Environment will be announced at the event.

The event will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of ADPSR, as well as 30th and 32nd anniversaries of the Association for Community Design (ACD), and Planners Network.

The Maple Leaf is located in uptown New Orleans at 8316 Oak Street. A catered reception will start at 7 PM and the ceremonies will begin at 7:30.  The awards program will be followed at 9 PM by renowned New Orleans brass band -- The Soul Rebels. The event is open to the public.

The 2007 Lewis Mumford Awards will be held in conjunction with two tandem national conferences— Race, Class and Community Recovery: From the Neighborhood to the Nation and Beyond, to be held at the University of New Orleans (UNO), May 30-June 2 and The Great Gumbo: Stirring the Pot of Community Design, to be held June 3-5, 2007 at Louisiana State University (LSU).
